This year, the timatkin.com team has continued to produce its flagship reports on Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Rías Baixas. Following on from their launch in 2025, we also produced second reports on Rueda, Bierzo, Navarra, Catalunya (still and sparkling) and Jerez. (The second Galicia report will be released early in 2026). We launched two new reports on the Canary Islands and Gredos, and we continued our Discover Spain tasting, tasting nearly 1,000 wine samples from other regions of Spain.
In total, we tasted and scored 6,367 wines, of course, not counting all the tank samples and old vintage wines that producers kindly shared with us and the hundreds of wonderful Spanish wines that we happily drank with family and friends throughout the year.
This list of our best 167 wines of the year represents just 2% of all those tasted. All regions covered in our reports are represented here, as well as many wines from our Discover Spain tasting, among them a high number of white wines (28%). Sherry leads the list in number of wines, highlighting the extraordinary vinous richness of this historic corner of Spain, but there is something to delight every Hispanophile.
