Description
This is my seventh in-depth look at the Argentinean wine scene, and the largest yet. My annual report is based on three weeks spent visiting vineyards and wineries in February this year. I talked to the winemakers, walked their vineyards and tasted their wines; over 1,500 wines from 292 wineries visited or tasted for the report.
Argentina is still pushing its viticultural boundaries in exciting new (or rediscovered) terroirs such as La Carrera, Uspallata, Chubut, El Espinillo, Pareditas and the Quebrada de San Lucas.
The report includes key information about all the different regions, my own classification of the best 200 growers in the country and my 108 Wines of the Year. It is illustrated with dozens of my own photographs.
