Abbie Bennington

Abbie Bennington swapped the fast-paced world of the BBC News at Ten for the equally dynamic world of wine more than 15 years ago. A former senior producer covering politics and global affairs, she now brings that same sharp eye for detail and big-picture thinking to vineyards, cellars, and tasting rooms.
As Chair of the Association of Wine Educators, Abbie is at the forefront of shaping how wine is taught and understood in the UK. She holds the WSET Diploma and is a certified WSET Educator, teaching the advanced Level 3. Her specialisms stretch from Bordeaux (CIVB Accredited Tutor) and Rioja (Certified Educator) to Cava (Advanced Specialist, DO Cava).
Through her own company, ABVTastings, Abbie leads tastings with a flair for storytelling, sits on judging panels for international competitions (including the IWC), and travels widely to interview winemakers and uncover new wine narratives for leading publications including Decanter, The Buyer and The Independent.
