Discover Spain… who wouldn’t want to?! This is surely one of the best ways: a report on 945 wines, 345 of which have tasting notes, from nearly every corner of Spain.
Our team now produces in-depth reports on 11 DOs of Spain, tasting thousands of wines and spending significant time on the ground. This Discover Spain report allows us to taste wines from other appellations, as well as those outside of the traditional DO system. The result is a truly comprehensive picture of the diversity and quality of the contemporary Spanish wine scene.
This is our second Discover Spain report, and like last year, we tasted the wines during the course of one week in May in Logroño. It was very pleasing to receive samples again from producers who featured in the 2024 report. But given the 45% increase in submissions, it is not surprising that there are lot of new wines in this year’s report, many of which we had never encountered before. There are 195 red wines, 108 white, 17 rosé, 14 sparkling, 4 sweet, 3 orange and 3 fortified wines. Enough to pique the interest of any Spanish wine-lover!
