Many of the wines in this report are from the 2023 vintage which produced some outstanding wines that show exceptional balance, typicity and superb aging potential. But there are also a lot of wines from the often undervalued 2022 vintage. These wines offer wonderful immediacy with very expressive ripe, red fruit – a vintage that is appealing and morish.
After a horrible summer of devastating bushfires which kept the producers of Bierzo on high alert for weeks on end, it is the perfect time to support the wineries and go out and buy up these truly exceptional wines.
