Napa Mountain Wines Report 2013

£5.00

For a valley to exist, mountains must frame it. In Napa Valley, the western Mayacamas Mountains and the eastern Vaca Ranges sandwich the primary portion of the appellation, where locals and visitors cruise up and down Highway 29 and the Silverado Trail. Compared
to those from the valley floor, mountain wines show a different style of fruit. Darker and
denser and laced with an intense minerality that makes them more savoury and less flamboyantly fruity.

Christy Canterbury MW explores the Napa Mountain Wines.
